Crayola- Imagine your own story Campaign
Problem: In a world filled with constant content, popular online children’s media is often fast paced and overstimulating. The newest generation consumes media differently than any previous generation, with so much of today’s content created in the digital space and handed off to an algorithm, it leads to children’s media to be created with the purpose of gaining views and revenue from advertisements, rather than to entertaining and better children.
Solution: To encourage valuable children’s media while promoting creativity, Crayola will encourage parents to understand the importance of slowing down and reading to their children.
As children's content is created specifically for online sites like Youtube, the pace has become faster than ever. Ignoring the basics of narrative-driven structure known to benefit child development, new content is designed to be the most 'engaging’, using tactics to encourage endless scrolling to gain views and advertisement revenue, regardless of its cost on children's health.
Crayola aims to share the importance of storytelling to a child's development with a collection of coloring books featuring iconic children's stories have blank pages allowing children to fill in the story with what they picture.
The drawings will be featured on posters, showing how children imagine story characters as well as other things such as nature.
